Re-thinking the banking app
OrangeBank

Challenge
Orange Bank was built for acquisition, but it never became a daily banking habit. 77% of customers kept a primary bank alongside it, sessions were rare, and most users stayed on the free plan. The business needed two things: more daily engagement, and a clearer path to premium.

Discovery
We surveyed 200 active customers and ran user interviews to understand the gap. The findings were consistent: the home screen felt promotional rather than useful, budget tools lacked the depth users expected, and the design felt dated. More critically, nothing in the app gave users a compelling reason to make it their primary banking experience or upgrade their plan.

Redesign
Three priorities emerged from our ideation workshops: smarter budget tracking with intelligent alerts, streamlined quick actions, and a more compelling premium upgrade journey. We translated these into a high-fidelity interactive prototype.

Validation
We tested the prototype with 13 users, clients and prospects. Qualitative feedback was strong: users expressed a clear declarative intent to use the app more intensively with these new features and flows. The premium upgrade journey was perceived as significantly more intuitive and compelling, making the value of the paid plan genuinely understandable for the first time.

It's easier to access features, wherever you are in the app. The path is shorter, with very few clicks. This is more well-thought, intuitive and pleasant to use, compared to the actual app.
